The Cultural Arts Committee would like to thank Mr. Martinez for donating his time, knowledge and love of the game of chess to our lucky students at Gardiners Avenue School. Chess has proven to aid in education, sharpen memory and attention skills and so much more! If you visit the cafeteria at 8:00 a.m. on any Monday you will find an exciting, bustling group of children, eager to learn and help someone with less experience gain knowledge. They are learning to compete for enjoyment and there are no losers. Mr. Martinez has joined an affiliate, which will allow Gardiners Avenue to participate in some tournaments in the future.
