Driver Education

Driver Education is a self-sustaining program offered by the Levittown School District to resident students who are in eleventh or twelfth grade and are 16 years of age prior to the start of the program session. If the demand for Driver Education is too great for the number of available spots and the student meets the above prerequisites, selection for the course will be made on the basis of age and grade - seniors are selected first in chronological order by birth date, then juniors in the same method.

Driver Education is provided in three semesters per year (Summer, Fall & Spring).

For the school year 2012 - 2013, Summer Driver Education will be offered as follows:

Summer Session - Monday, July 2, 2012 - Tuesday, August 14, 2012
(*Money is due at registration)

Registration for all students will be Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Levittown Memorial Education Center from 7AM to 9AM.
(At this time students will choose their schedule)

Please note that registration is on a first come - first serve basis. Those who arrive at registration early will have more openings to select from for classroom and road training times. If your child cannot make it to registration on this day, a parent or legal guardian may register him/her.

Division Avenue High School - pick up registration form on Wednesday, May 16th at 2:45PM Cafeteria West

MacArthur High School - pick up registration form on Thursday, May 17th at 2:45PM Cafeteria A

Parochial School Students living within the Levittown School District will be notified by mail.

By NYSED and DMV mandate, the program must meet for 24 classroom hours and 24 hours in the car, six hours behind the wheel and eighteen hours observation. Attendance is strictly enforced and upon the fourth absence a student will be dropped from the program.
