The Levittown School District is proud to announce that Erin Perotta, an eighth-grade student at Jonas E. Salk Middle School, is a winner in the Mid Atlantic Oireachtas, a regional Irish step dancing competition.

Twenty-one students from Salk Middle School were acknowledged during their lunch periods with R.I.S.E. Awards for November. Mr. Zampaglione, principal and Mr. Mulligan, assistant principal, presented the awards along with some Salk staff members.

The 7th grade girl's soccer team at Salk Middle School had an outstanding 2011 season both on and off the field. Through the first six games the team was undefeated, and ended up finishing the season with an impressive 7-1-1 record. Caitlin Elia, Kate Baumstein, and Emily Rubbino lead the offense scoring seven goals each during the season. Sarah Andreski totaled an impressive 34 saves at goalie.

Junior Leaders at Levittown Jonas E. Salk Middle School participated in a drug and alcohol community awareness project at the Cherrywood Shopping Plaza in Wantagh. The members of this leadership organization created posters to promote the school's Red Ribbon campaign highlighting the dangers of destructive decisions.
